Day 309 - Bronx Zoo

Bronx Zoo was on todays agenda for Janie and I. What a day we picked as well, as it has to have been the hottest day I have experienced out here.

Day 308 - TropFest

Today was all about lounging in a park. Touching down about 1pm in Prospect Park Brooklyn, we got ourselves comfortable and watched the free yoga session. We considered getting involved but decided to sleep instead. Far too much like hard work in that heat.

A few hours later the live music started, followed by the short film competition. The films were brilliant and definetly worth a watch on YouTube - http://tropfest.com/.

We lasted in the park from 1pm through to 10pm. It is fair to say that my attempts at sheltering for cover under my umbrella were futile. Within a few hours, I became the colour of my umbrella. Janie on the other hand, embraced it and tanned to perfection.

Day 307 - Essential Pitstop

I clearly did a good job at Christmas time by getting Janie addicted to Rathbones wings. It was the first place she wanted to head to. After all, we needed the energy food ahead of what she had planned for the afternoon. Shopping! Luckily a strong glass of wine was there to greet us at the end of it all.

Day 306 - Gremmy Visit 2.0

Gremmy has come to town for the summer part of the adventure! 10 days of playtime.

Day 305 - Mountbatten Quiz

Tonight I went to the first official Mountbatten Quiz that was organised by the Intern Management Committee. Rather unsuccessfully coming fourth out of twelve teams, my flatmates and I (team name three and a half man) coped with most rounds apart from naming all 50 states. You would think we would forget one of the states that none of us had been too but we instead forgot the one that we had all been to and quite recently at that. Illinois. I will NEVER forget that state ever again!

Day 304 - Less Teachers More Bacon

During a rather unenthusiastic path journey, a curious sticker caught my eye. Recognising the pointing, 'large' faced man as Governor Chris Christie, I struggled to understand his phrase. Even after a 0.37 second google search I still came up empty. Answers on a postcard please so I can make Path friends.

Day 303 - Fake Beach

Although it may be in the middle of a highly built up area, it serves the same purpose as real beach. Well, if you can get over there not being any sea to throw yourself into when you have turned into a lobster. Nevertheless, Newport's fake beach is not a bad way to chill and stare at the beautiful Manhatten skyline.
