Day 133 - Failed Tourists

We tried to see as many sites as possible today and cover some major NYC ground.

Starting off at the Empire State building, we plotted our path around the various attractions. We were not up there as long as we wanted to be though, because of the weather being at a cozy -8 degrees! My FA cup style ears felt like they were going to fall off.

Determined to not let these British Summer temperatures hamper our sightseeing, we braved on and caught the boat that tours Manhattan. In the snow! Admittedly, the visibility of the sights was pretty minimal and if it wasn't for the tour guide, that did a brilliant job at telling us roughly where the various buildings and monuments were in the blizzard it could have just been a very long and expensive boat ride. Expensive not because of the cost of the tour but because I kept on buying food as substance to keep us warm.

We had to admit defeat after the boat trip and seek refuge in Dean and DeLuca's deli. The strong smell of fragrant coffee, warm pastries and fresh food did a good job at getting our body temperatures back to normal.

In the evening we went to a Japanese restaurant called Hakubai on 38th and Park. I would like to say we were feeling adventurous but it was attached to our hotel and we didn't dare venture outside again. The amazing food paired with midget sized bottles of alcohol, made it a perfect end to a freezing day.

Great View!
She should swap that flame for an Umbrella
