Day 135 - New Years Eve

There are endless opportunities to ring in the New Year in New York. You can stand with over a million people in Times Square and watch the famous ball drop, you could go to one of the many parties and open bar events or you could go to Eataly and buy a stack load of food and wine and watch it all on the TV.

We chose the latter.

Janie and I got to Eataly as soon as it opened, prepared ourself with a coffee and then ran a super market sweep, style shop to get as many delectables as possible. After we had dropped the food off at the hotel, we went over to the 9/11 memorial to pay our respects.

You could say that our NYE was rather subdued, especially as we are in one of the party capital's of the world but the thought of scrambling threw millions of people, in minus degree weather didn't do it for us. Olives, prosecco and Ryan Seacrest were more than suitable to our requirements.

Happy New Year Everybody! If 2013 is anything to go by 2012 then I can't wait. Y.O.L.O.

Psy, MC Hammer, Carly Rae Jepsen and Ryan Seacrest.
